For my wedding gift from my husband, he was super thoughtful and gave it to me a few weeks early. It was a plane ticket to Minneapolis from Chicago on Sept 22-24 AND a VIP Pass to Kari Jobe’s concert with a meet & greet to see and hangout with her backstage before the show. By the way, Kari Jobe….she is an incredible woman in the Lord, has the sweetest heart for people and man does that girl love to worship. I am always inspired by her and have always loved her as a person and singer since the day I heard her. I’ve shared her songs to many of my friends and they have become fans as well.
Little did my husband know when he got the tickets, but a week prior to him giving me that gift I had a dream. A dream that was probably the most realistic dream I may have ever had. In the dream, I met Kari Jobe and got to hangout with her. We were in a church building and I ran into her in a hallway, we got to talking, laughing, and taking photos together with her arm around me. Pretty real dream. So the next morning I told my mom about the dream (and she knew about Justin’s surprise gift to me) she coudn’t believe it! She called justin and told him about my dream and they were both beside themselves – me not knowing the whole time.
The next weekend I went out to visit Justin in MN and he gave me the gift. It came with a note explaining, “God had already told you about this gift.” I’m thinking…what?? before I opened it. So i see the ticket and squeal with excitement, not only have I ALWAYS wanted to meet her but I had a dream just one week ago that I had and now i was getting an opportunity to!
We went to the meet & greet in a room full of worship leaders from the twin city area and Justin was invited to be a part of it and he brought me! There were probably 30-40 people there and Kari! She was so close to us! She spoke on worship leading and gave such a great word of encouragement. Then she sang a couple songs with her guitar player just for us! It was so special. We thought we were going to have time to chat with her, get her autograph and photos before the show, but time was running out before she had to do sound check and so they had a proffessional photog there that wanted to take ONE group photo. bum! BUT she came walking right towards me, looked me in the eye and said “hi!” then we got into a group photo and she stood right next to me!! Ok..the first photo was normal, then the 2nd one, the photog says “ok-put your arms around each other.” So I put my arm around her and she me! I couldn’t believe it. L-i-t-e-r-a-l-l-y my dream came true.
The rest of the night was amazing, she had a great worship set that rocked the house and Jesus definitely showed up! What a beautiful picture of how much our God loves us and what a start to a glimpse of the future my Justin and I as a married couple.
